On 12/09/26, starting at 1:00 PM, we’re inviting you to MUSIC MEET UP 2026 at the Kulturzentrum Lagerhaus. MUSIC MEET UP is the music conference for the local music scene in the state of Bremen. Expect an exciting programme packed with pop-cultural and political discourse, helpful workshops, think tanks, talks and networking opportunities — and of course fantastic music from the best state in the world.
At MUSIC MEET UP, musicians, DJs, producers, label folks, promoters, music journalists and music lovers, as well as politicians and funding bodies come together to better understand, discuss, push forward and celebrate the local scene. This full-day event takes place this year at the Kulturzentrum Lagerhaus , is open to the public and free of charge, and accessible without advance registration.

1:30 PM | How To Fail Better | Panel
In the age of social media, we’re flooded every day with over-idealised success stories and supposed secret tips for your career. Only success counts! But is that really true? Is life as a musician only a success once your songs rack up millions of clicks and you’re able to perform live in front of tens of thousands? We’ll talk with four established Bremen musicians, all of whom have been able to celebrate their highs and lows, about ambition, pressure to succeed, and shows in packed and empty venues. We’re looking forward to entertaining anecdotes and smart learnings from Alenna Rose, Grillmaster Flash, Jay Pop and Lady Oelectric. The talk will be moderated by Chrissie Loock.

4:00 PM | Community Radio | Think Tank
Community radio already has a history in Bremen – one of Germany’s first pirate radio stations broadcast from the district – but currently, nothing of the sort can be heard. Bremen has no community radio like those found in abundance in Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig, and other cities. That needs to change! And we want to gather your perspectives and expertise to get the process rolling and collect what’s needed to start a community radio in Bremen.
The Think Tank brings together diverse experiences and perspectives – from editorial practice and free and experimental radio formats to questions of networking, public engagement, and participation.

5:45 PM | Mental health in nightlife | Workshop
Krackk combines her experience as a DJ with her work as a psychologist and trainee psychotherapist. In her introductory workshop “Mental health in nightlife”, she explores how club culture affects our mental wellbeing — both for people who work in nightlife and for those who regularly take part in it. Together, we’ll take a look at the resources and challenges of nightlife, share experiences, and develop initial ideas for a more sustainable club culture.
7:30 PM | Music - A Rich Kids' Hobby? | Panel
In the music business, success is no longer determined by talent alone: more and more, people are discussing the role that background, financial security and social privilege play in access to the industry. This raises the question of who the oft-cited idea of creative upward mobility can still be a reality for. Who can afford to accept years of unpaid work, insecurity and self-exploitation? Which doors open more easily with financial backing — and who is left out despite their talent?
Especially in Bremen, Germany’s poorest state, where one in four people is affected by poverty, this debate is particularly relevant. As part of this year’s Music Meet Up, we’ll therefore talk about socio-economic barriers to access in the music business, classism in the cultural sector, and the reality behind supposed rags-to-riches narratives. Together with our guests Finna, Goldy.mp3, Leyla Ercan, Nikel Pallat and Saskia Worf, we’ll discuss how unevenly opportunities are distributed in the music industry, which structural hurdles affect independent artists in particular, and what responsibility the scene, labels and audiences carry. The talk will be moderated by Tine Küchenmeister.
9:30 PM | MOUSSA + Surprise Act | Showcase
In the showcase at MUSIC MEET UP 2026, we’ll present a surprise act and the up-and-coming rapper MOUSSA.
Many years have passed since the last album. With parts of the new LP DRUCK, produced by 28SCOTT, MOUSSA is getting back on stage. DRUCK is an album about a state everyone knows, but carries individually — whether driving, destructive, motivating or paralysing. Sometimes it comes from the outside, sometimes it’s created in your own head. DRUCK tries to put all of that into context, without offering easy answers. At the same time, a second theme runs through the entire album: “balance” — or rather the search for it. Musically, the album deliberately moves between categories. Classic rap structures are broken up, vocals shift between different forms of expression, and the soundscape leans more towards a modern, atmospheric overall aesthetic than fixed genre boundaries.
The entire project was produced, arranged and mixed by 28SCOTT. Together, they’ve created a sound that’s detail-obsessed, modern and fully produced without losing focus on the content. Between ambition and self-doubt, control and loss of control, overwhelm and the constant attempt not to lose balance.

MUSIC MEET UP is free of charge and accessible without advance registration. Only participation in the “Mental health in nightlife” workshop and the “Community Radio” think tank requires advance registration. Participation in these is also free of charge.

During the evening programme, an awareness team from L’Unita Security will be on duty. Please approach them if you feel uncomfortable or need help or support. You can recognise the awareness team by their purple vests.

Photography and filming are permitted during the event. As POP Office Bremen, we will also be producing video and photo material. If you do not wish to be photographed and/or filmed, please let us know. We will then respect your request.
