When we talk about pop music or popular music, we are always talking about music that is not clearly assigned to the categories of classical and new music or jazz. That means pop music can be many things! So whether it’s pop, rock, indie, country, punk, metal, hip hop, R&B, funk, soul, ambient, house, techno, reggae, blues or whatever the genres are called – the POP Office Bremen is there for you and your music!

As POP Office Bremen, we support all musicians, including bands, solo artists, DJs, producers and labels from Bremen and Bremerhaven who are active in popular music. We look forward to hearing from you!

Our support is based on three pillars: financing (LIVEFonds), networking (showcases and information events) and training/knowledge (workshops and Beratungspool). Many musicians – especially newcomers and semi-professionals – have neither a label nor management. They often have to handle topics such as accounting, marketing, logistics and mixing on their own. This is exactly where POP Office Bremen comes in: with uncomplicated help so that your music is the focus. Our team recognizes gaps in the Bremen music scene and is your point of contact for questions and ideas. Because good support is accessible, practical and geared to your needs. In addition, POP Office Bremen, as a lobby association, is committed to a strong, diverse music scene in the state of Bremen.

In April 2022, the association, POP Office Bremen, was founded by the first board members. The concept originated on the initiative of the Bremen Senator for Economic Affairs, Ports and Transformation (SWHT) – at that time Senator for Economic Affairs, Labor and Europe (SWAE). The content was developed by Andrea Rothaug, the managing director of RockCity Hamburg.

For us to support you and grow, we need people, music, and members! As a member, you can actively shape POP Office Bremen and your membership fee supports the entire Bremen music scene. Access the application here – you can submit it digitally or by mail.

Regular membership entitles you to participate in and shape the association’s activities under the terms of the POP Office Bremen e.V. statutes, with the rights and obligations of a full member. With a membership fee of €60 per year you become a regular member. A supporting membership serves as an ongoing donation to the association and allows participation in its activities without voting rights. It is open to individuals who do not qualify for regular membership under the statutes—such as minors, amateur musicians, non-residents of Bremen, or those without direct ties to the local music scene. The minimum annual fee for supporting membership is €30. And by the way: Your membership fee is 100% tax-deductible!

As a non-profit funding association, POP Office Bremen is financed by membership fees and funding from the Bremen Senator for Economic Affairs, Ports and Transformation. Individual projects have also been realized with the help of federal funds from the Initiative Musik and the Bremen Senator for Culture.
