Many DJs are confident with classic 2-deck mixing, but that's often just the beginning. This advanced workshop is about expanding your setup and routines: How can you effectively use a third deck to add more dynamics, depth, and individuality to your set?
DJ and producer Philo will show you how to actively shape your sound, rather than just stringing tracks together, by integrating additional elements like vocals, percussion loops, or breaks into your mixes through targeted layering. You'll learn how to keep track of three simultaneously running tracks and ensure clear sound and punch through precise EQing.
Beyond technical fundamentals, the workshop also covers creative performance tools: Fader cuts, loops, backspins, and reverse functions are used not just as effects, but as musical tools to build tension and create lively transitions.
We'll also take a look at cross-genre mixing and how different grooves can be combined. The workshop is aimed at DJs who have already mastered the basics and want to further develop their own style. The goal is to gain more confidence in handling multiple decks and to find new ways to make sets more exciting and individual.
