POP SCHOLARSHIP
Funding for Bremen Musicians
The Senator for Culture and the POP Office Bremen will award two POP SCHOLARSHIPS of 3,000 euros each for the first time in 2025.
The new funding program is designed to specifically support the professional development of musicians from Bremen in the field of popular music.
Applications are now possible.
The POP SCHOLARSHIP is aimed at solo artists, bands and artistic DJs who have already taken their first professional steps and want to expand their careers further. Projects that include the production of their own pieces of music are supported – from studio recordings to mixing and mastering to accompanying measures such as music videos, release concerts or professional artwork.
The aim of the program is to strengthen the artistic quality and visibility of Bremen’s music scene and to support musicians in sharpening their profile and setting new artistic impulses. The funding is cross-genre and open to all areas of popular music (excluding jazz, according to the statutes of the POP Office Bremen).
A panel of experts will decide on the awarding of the two scholarships. The artistic quality and the development potential of the project will be assessed, among other things.
