WHAT DOES THE BREMEN MUSIC SCENE NEED?
Panel Talk + Q&A | 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM
For the third time, we ask: What makes the Bremen scene so special? Where are its strengths and where is there still room for improvement? How can we work together to advance the music scene? Together with you and our panelists, we want to take stock again and consider what the future of the local scene in the two-city state could look like. Get involved – because you are the Bremen music scene!
The panel will include Marian Rossol (Bremen Vier & Bremen NEXT), Sophia Lebeck (Booker), Yvy Terbrack (Musician HB), Robin Dickerson (Musician BHV) and Andreas Friedrich (Event Organizer in HB and BHV). The talk will be moderated by Chrissie Loock.
GREEN TOURING
Lecture | 4:00 PM - 4:30 PM
The keyword “Green Touring” is on everyone’s lips against the backdrop of the climate crisis. Concrete initiatives range from greenwashing to sustainable activism. Especially for precariously living and working musicians, the demand for ecologically sustainable tours can mean a further challenge.
Jakob Fraisse from the jazzahead! trade fair & festival explains why Green Touring can be a win-win-win situation for event organizers, musicians and audiences. He reports on his experiences of a “Green Pilot Tour” through Sweden and presents two tools with the Green Touring Tool of jazzahead! and the Green Touring Rider of Rockcity Hamburg e.V. that make the green touring life easier for musicians and event organizers. Jakob Fraisse is a cultural manager, social and cultural scientist and musician. He got to know the (inter)national jazz scene through his work for jazzahead!, the German Jazz Union and the Jazzfest Berlin. He is co-author of the Jazz Study 2022, the report on the situation of jazz in Germany 2024 and has led the education project Jazzpilot*innen, which was awarded the German Jazz Prize in 2025. At jazzahead! he is responsible for the topics partner country, CLUBNIGHT, Green Touring and Improvisation and Jazz for Children. In addition to his work for jazzahead! he is on the board of Clubverstärker e.V., the mouthpiece of live music venues and live music organizers with cultural-social aspirations in Bremen and the surrounding area.

ELECTRONIC PRESS KIT
Workshop | 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
You’ve been booked for the first time and now a press kit is requested? Don’t panic!
In this workshop you will learn what an Electronic Press Kit (EPK) is, what it should contain and what it is needed for. After an overview of all the elements of the EPK, we want to focus on the press release. What information should be included? How do I find an authentic writing style? What different versions do I need for which media and platforms? What mistakes should I avoid? Together we will write a first draft and give each other feedback in order to leave the workshop with a first press release. If you have already written press releases, please bring them with you!
Elena Tüting has a doctorate in literature from the University of Bremen and feels at home in everything that has to do with language, communication and cultural practice. For four years she has been responsible for press and public relations at the Kulturzentrum Schlachthof. With up to 150 events per year, numerous press kits from international artists to local newcomers pass through her hands to get to the website, into the press distribution lists and into the social media channels.
Duration: approx. 120 minutes | Participants: 6 | Participation fee: Free.

HYPED, HATED — FEMINISM IN GERMAN RAP
Panel + Q&A | 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
In German rap, there is a lot of arguing again, because more and more FLINTA* Acts are confidently grabbing the mic and making an announcement to the patriarchy: language and gender roles are being reinterpreted, power structures are being lyrically reversed and the male-dominated rap business is being turned upside down. While many celebrate this as a feminist revolution in the rap game, the artists are also met with outrage, ridicule and disregard. Many female rappers are confronted with derogatory accusations. They are merely industry plants or quota women who would ultimately only serve the prevailing male gaze, it is claimed. Is there any truth to this criticism or is it just an expression of misogyny in German rap? Who is expressing this criticism anyway? And how do the artists concerned deal with it? We’ll talk about it with sarah4k, PLH, Matilda and Heidi Süß. The panel will be moderated by Melissa Kunkel

SARAH4K
Showcase | 9:30 PM - 10:00 PM
Even if sarah4k has her name written in small letters on the poster, she pumps every line in ALL CAPS into your ear. With the seemingly alternative and unsuppressable anger with which the Bremen native makes rap, it is not surprising that her discography mainly contains one thing: bangers that pressure-wash through the patriarchal system. Her concerts are like an ecstatic energy discharge in a burning house and the razor-sharp sarah4k stands in the middle with high heels and a crowbar. We are looking forward to 30 minutes of bouncy energy against fake, against hype and for more respect!
