Since the age of seventeen, Kerstin Mayer has spent a lot of time at concerts. For more than a decade, she was also active behind the scenes. At the same time, she trained as a tax clerk, studied media management and passed the exam to become an event manager. Afterwards, she worked in various media companies before she got to know and love the topic of cultural promotion. She spent several years as a project supervisor at Initiative Musik and then took over as head of financial management at the Amadeus Antonio Foundation, which supports initiatives against group-based hostility. Since 2020, Kerstin Mayer has been supporting music creators in applying for and implementing funding projects as an independent funding consultant – on behalf of Music Pool Berlin and RockCity Hamburg,among others.

Since 2020, Kerstin has been on the board for Bundesverbands Popularmusik – BV Pop.
