Structural funding supports the development of sustainable professional structures and frameworks in popular music and jazz in Germany. The program supports transformation processes as well as discourse and networking in the music industry. In addition, regional and state-specific funding institutions and networks for popular music and jazz are to be developed, established, and strengthened in close cooperation with federal states and municipalities.

Initiative Musik's artist funding is aimed at solo artists and bands looking to gain a foothold in the German and international music market. Possible funding subjects include composition and conception, production and recording, record production, videos and content production, promotion and marketing, and touring.
