The Vereinshaus, the former customs office in Überseestadt, houses nearly 300 musicians in rehearsal rooms, workshops and concerts with a focus on local bands take place in the Zollkantine, and the Überseefestival has been a meeting place and showcase for Bremen’s music scene for 15 years.

The association’s office is a contact point for musicians and bands from the Bremerhaven area. In the future, a hub for a local and regional network will be created here.
Supraregional points of contact
Pop promotion in Germany works differently everywhere. But no matter how local, regional or even supraregional the promotion is: BV Pop brings everything together under one roof and, with all its members from all over Germany, forms a competence network for pop music and pop culture. The members of BV Pop pursue the common interest of further developing pop promotion in Germany and setting it up for the future. Better support for artists* for all plays a crucial role in this. From up-and-coming musicians to the diverse music networks and solo self-employed, all need this common voice explaining to others what the realities of life are in this field and what cultural diversity needs for economic foundations. This also includes pop promotion as a cross-sectional task, ranging from cultural breadth to professional qualification, from rural areas to the diversity of metropolitan areas, from science to business. And that is precisely why the coordinating function of BV POP is so important: so that everything meshes and promotion can have a sustainable effect.

PRO MUSIK campaigns for the interests of freelance musicians. Whether you are a member of a band or a freelance orchestra, a studio or live musician, DJ or singer-songwriter, instrumental teacher or lecturer: We address the concerns, needs and questions to be clarified of the entire scene and represent music creators vis-à-vis politicians, clients and the music industry. Our goal is always to improve the working conditions, salaries and prospects for all freelance musicians in Germany and to be a strong representative body that initiates issues and is heard in all important decisions concerning our profession. PRO MUSIK was founded in 2021 during the coronavirus pandemic based on the experience that freelance musicians – in stark contrast to those in the music industry – had no representation of their interests. Our aim is to fill this gap.
